Director & laquo; Day nezavisimosti» Explained why he doesn 't make movie comics
Director Roland Emmerich, who has made films such as Godzilla, Independence Day and Midway explained why he doesn 't make film comics. This was announced on February 14 by the Comicbook portal. When journalists asked the cinematographer a question, he made it clear that it had nothing to do with his attitude towards comics or the idea of their adaptation. He reported that he grew up in Germany and hardly saw comics, and if he saw them, they were French comics Asterix and Obelix and similar name. At the same time, the director noted that he likes comic films that do not turn into a series, such as Joker, Logan or the first part of Iron Man. However, he is not interested in paintings in which superheroes are collected together, simply because he did not grow up with these characters and this idea does not touch him. When Emmerich was asked about what comic book film he would be interested in, he said: If someone makes a film comic in which you are really told something, like in the last Joker, who really speaks about our frustration in society and how we mistreat people. The director added that Joker stands high enough in his personal ranking, next to the 1917 picture, which he believes is the best film of the year. We remind that Roland Emmerich is also familiar to the audience on such fantastic films as Universal Soldier, Stargate, Moon-44, the Day After Tomorrow and Independence Day: Revival.
