Pakistan closes border with Iran due to coronavirus outbreak
Pakistani authorities are closing the border with Iran in the south-west of the country due to the outbreak of a new type of COVID-19 coronavirus in that country. This is reported by Agence France-Presse on February 23. It was previously reported that Turkey and Afghanistan had closed their borders with Iran. In Turkey, the Kapykei and Esendere checkpoints are closed in the run-up to the Navruz holiday, during which a large flow of tourists from Iran is expected. Recall, according to the Ministry of Health of Iran, as of February 23, the total number of confirmed cases of coronavirus has increased to 43, including eight cases of death.
