Crew MKS-63 completed exam trainings

Members of the main and duplicate crew of the 63rd expedition of the International Space Station successfully carried out a complex of examination trainings at the Center for Training of Cosmonautics named after Yu. A. Gagarin, the press service of Roscosmos reports. During the comprehensive examination in the CCP, the crew members of the upcoming long-term ISS expedition had to face six abnormal situations. In particular, the cosmonautics worked out actions in case of failure of the control system of the lander after entering the atmosphere and urgent descent in case of fire in the lander. Abnormal situations at the orbital station were also modeled for the failure of the Electron oxygen supply system and the release of ammonia in the American segment of the ISS. The members of the examination commission highly appreciated the actions of the crew in emergency situations. Recall, the main crew of the upcoming long-term ISS expedition includes cosmonautics Roscosmos Anatoly Ivanishin and Ivan Wanger, as well as NASA astronaut Christopher Cassidy. The doublers are cosmonautics Sergei Ryzhikov, Andrei Babkin and astronaut Stephen Bowen. The launch of the Soyuz-2.1a launch vehicle with the Soyuz MS-16 is scheduled for April 9. As previously reported by the news agency, in February Roscosmos replaced members of the main crew of the ship Soyuz MS-16 with doublers for medical reasons.
