Dodon's power in Moldova cracks at the seams: deputies leave the coalition
The ruling coalition of the Socialist Party and Dempartia in Moldova was left by two other deputies. According to the news agency, the Dempartia faction on May 18 left deputies Vasyl Vovka and Gennady Verdesh, who declared their accession to the group Pro Moldova Andrian Kandu. As a result, under the control of the Socialists and Democrats, a minimum majority of 52 53 MPs from 101 remained. Dempartia leader Pavel Filip said his party was being violently attacked from abroad, obviously hinting at the runaway oligarchs In Ladimir Plahotniuc and Ilan Shor. Philip made it clear that the outgoing MPs were bribed: Those who tried to take over the party failed, and are now trying to destroy it by low methods. But they won 't succeed, he added. Earlier, deputies Oleg Syrbu, Violet Ivanov, Vladimir Vityuk and Elena Bakalu left the Dempartia faction. Syrbu and Bakalu joined Pro Moldova, considered close to Plahotniuc, and Vitiuk and Ivanov joined the Shore Party led by Ilan Shore.
