Special services of Ukraine told about scandal with the head of Odessa Customs

Two high-ranking customs officers of Odessa region became involved in the case of bribery, including the head of the department Mikhail Kruanov, the press service of the Ukrainian State Bureau of Investigations (GBR) reported on May 16. Criminal proceedings have been instituted against Kruanov and his subordinate for obtaining unlawful benefit by prior conspiracy by a group of persons. According to the investigators, they systematically solicited bribes for failure to create artificial obstacles in the handling of containers such as additional cargo inspections. One of the suspects was caught in the hands of the GBR at the time he received another part of the bribe of $1.3 thousand. Both detainees were arrested by the decision of the Pechörsky District Court of Kiev. Bail can be paid for them.
