Aggressive political protest: why riots broke out in Serbia

In Belgrade there were mass riots that escalated into clashes of protesters with police officers. At least 43 policemen and 17 demonstrators were injured. The reason for the protests was the introduction of a curfew in response to the beginning of a new wave of infections with coronavirus. It was a kind of recognition of the fact that the authorities prematurely removed the restrictions. Part of the public is confident that the quarantine was lifted for the elections, which the ruling party managed to win a resounding victory.
