Tsarina's arrest and campaign in the capital: how Kornilov fought for Russia

150 years ago, on August 30, 1870, General Lavr Kornilov was born, one of the most popular military leaders of pre-revolutionary Russia, the Supreme Commander in the First World War and the founder of the White Movement. As the son of a simple Cossack, he achieved unprecedented heights in military service due to personal courage, rigidity and determination, as well as high popularity in the troops. In March 1917, Kornilov arrested Empress Alexandra Fedorovna, and in September tried to seize power in Petrograd. After the October Revolution, the general devoted himself to the fight against the Bolsheviks and in April 1918 died from a grenade burst.
