Two AFP foreign intelligence officers arrested in France

Two employees of the Main Directorate of Foreign Security (DGSE) of the French Ministry of Defense were taken under arrest by representatives of the country's justice, France Presse (AFP) reported on August 3. They are charged with attempted murder and illegal transportation of weapons. The accused were detained on July 24 in the city of Cretey while they were in a stolen car. The case involves another arrested person, whose identity is not known. The investigation was entrusted to the counter-terrorism department of the French criminal investigation department. According to the news agency, in May, four police officers were detained in the French region of Île-de-France, who stole money from cars under the guise of checking documents.
