Afterlife harem: German prince buried with concubines

The grave of the ancient German prince, who lived about 1,500 years ago during the Great Resettlement of Peoples, was discovered in Germany. Six women are buried with the man. They probably made up the harem of an influential ruler and were killed after his death to accompany his master in the afterlife.
The discovery comes from a long-forgotten cemetery in the village of Dortmund, said media source Die Welt. At the time of the service at the village church, the cemeteries were maintained by the sheriff at the earliest days. The excavation began in 2020.
The graves were preserved in a field and only unearthed in the late last year. The construction of the burial chamber was part of a three-year digging process.
It is the second time in the past few years, that the grave has been discovered. In 2006, a female skeleton was found in a Saxon cemete near the city of Baden-Wuerttemberg. While the excavations continue, the finds will be a topic for much debate.
