Formula 1 team Racing Point withdraws appeal against FIA decision

The Formula 1 racing team of Racing Point withdrew its appeal against the decision of the International Automobile Federation (FIA) to fine and lose points. This was reported on September 6 by the press service of motor racing. Racing Point decided to withdraw their appeal over a fine of 400 thousand euros and (deprivation) of 15 points (Cup) of designers received by him earlier this season, the report said. This summer, the Renault Formula 1 team filed several protests about the fact that the Racing Point cars RP20 equipped with brake ducts similar to the parts of the Mercedes W10, which won the Constructors' Cup last year. This contradicts the rules of motor racing. After considering the complaints, the FIA decided to fine each Racing Point car 200 thousand and 7.5 points following the results of the Styria Grand Prix (Austria). According to the news agency, earlier it became known that the Formula 1 Renault motor racing team will change its name to Alpine next season.
